Parent-Teacher Conference

Wow - what a great day parent-teacher conference day was! I had 21 out of 26 parents show up and all were positive. I even have one parent who works at the fairgrounds and she said she may be able to get me some tickets. You should have seen her face when I told her that her daughter could be sweet sometimes and that I genuinely like her. She does talk way too much and sometimes gets an attitude, but she has a sweet side, too. I hope my positive interactions with parents continue...I haven't had a bad meeting yet, really. There was one grandparent that asked a whole lot of questions about the curriculum and how I do things in the classroom. I gave her more than enough information, so by the time she left she was pretty satisfied. I gave her copies of the math and language pacing guides, gave her some workbooks and copies of the midterm tests, and showed her studyisland.com and my website. I will be so sad at the end of this year cause next year I'll have to start over with all new students and all new parents, and you never know what you're gonna get.
